Franny is a tough cookie but was very anxious on arrival for the second surgery. I really felt for her, she is only just starting to recover from the spinal op and here we are back in theatre for the next one. Tough love! Franny's legs were marked and then the anesthetist, surgeon and a peadiatric counsellor stopped by to discuss the procedure with Franny. This definitely helped and when the time came to go down to theatre Franny was calm.
Dr Dobbs called from the O.R at 3pm to say that the surgery had gone well and he was just closing up. After a reunion in recovery we were transferred up to a private room on floor ten. Franny had a rough 24 hours. She's on a lot of medication and it took some time to get the combined dosage right. She was very distressed but eventually calm at 3.30pm today when we were discharged. Franny is sleeping now. I hope she has a peaceful night and is rested for physio tomorrow.
Thursday 22nd July - Franny is completely exasperated!
Franny had a settled night but has been very distressed during physio this afternoon and this evening and not up for any filming. She is such a trooper but her world has been turned upside down this past month and she is completely exasperated today. Franny is not able to bear any weight yet and this is so frightening for Franny. Tonight, I'm getting an angry vibe from Franny although she has never verbalised this. I am desperate to see the left foot in action post op but will have to wait a bit longer! I will report back tomorrow. Team Francesca, please pray for physical and mental healing!
