Monday 26th July

We saw Dr Park today ahead of our departure tomorrow. He was pleased with Francesca's progress but would like to see us again next summer. Franny was pleased about this as I promised her we can go on to Disneyland in Florida after. Franny gave him a big hug and a kiss and said "how can I ever thank you enough" he replied 'by working extremely hard at your physio and lots of lots of vigorous excercise'.

Franny had a good physio session with Mad Michael this afternoon and walked on a treadmill until her legs gave way, she was exhausted! This was Franny's last session with Michael, she has really bonded with him over the past month and they had an emotional goodbye. We said goodbye to all of the other UK families this evening, we will be following their progress over the coming months and looking forward to seeing them all again in December for a huge Christmas party.

Tuesday 27th July - Hasta la vista St Louis!
A busy morning, physio and discharge with Lori at 8am and then on to the airport for our connecting flight to New York. It's with some trepidation that we leave the safety of Childrens hospital and their fantastic team but I know that Franny's recovery and ongoing rehabilitation will only improve in her home environment. Franny is still weak of course but looking great. I am so proud of her. Her light is still bright!
 
Of course the journey doesn't stop here. Franny has a tremendous amount of work ahead of her, we have a new physio Claire to bond with and a new programme to implement. We are going shopping......for a treadmill!

Once again, a huge and heartfelt THANK YOU to all our supporters. We are two very lucky girls to be part of such a caring community. I will continue to update Francesca's weekly progress via this site.
