Race Around Ireland

In September 2011 Francesca's swim coach Neil Barford will be competing in Europe's toughest endurance cycle race 'The Race Around Ireland'.

Starting in Navan on September 12th the race is a time trial consisting of 1350 miles of open roads through some of the most spectacular scenery that Ireland has to offer including some of Irelands largest mountains.

1350 miles must be completed in no more than 132 hours (5 and a half days) non stop. Unable to take any solid food onboard for the majority of the challenge and averageing just 4 hours sleep per day, Neil will be pushing himself to his very limits testing endurance, strength and mental ability.

Neil has selected 'Francesca's Footsteps' as his chosen charity. He will be raising funds for Francesca's ongoing physiotherapy and helping to build awareness for SDR (Selective Dorsal Rhizitomy) in the UK and Ireland.

If you would like to pledge your support and make a donation you can do so by clicking the
button below. Please ensure you leave a personal message for Neil.

THANK YOU
