We arrived home last Wednesday to a heroes welcome. Franny and I were scooped up in a huge cape of family love, it felt FANTASTIC. We had a celebratory family party with lots of speeches and happy tears and I was so relieved to be home. Special thanks to Aunty Elaine who cleaned our entire house, catered the party and collected us from Birmingham at 7am. Franny's cousins were so excited to see her again and when bedtime came I found them all hiding and giggling under her duvet! So cute!
Franny is weak but motivated and managing some supported walking with me holding her from behind. We are concentrating on fast walking with big wide strides and she was managing approx. 250 per day at the weekend. It's good progress but very tough on my back so I am looking forward to the arrival of the treadmill (big project and we are working on it!). Franny had a good first physio session with Claire and worked very hard. As a family we've discussed ongoing 'fun physio' for Franny, swimming, biking, walking races, treadmill challenge. There's definitely a rota coming on!
