We've been back to see our Consultant, Andrew Williams at NGH who has taken a special interest in Franny's progress. Awareness of the surgery is growing and there is a 'tsunami' of new applicants. Dr Williams and our friends at Footsteps have been forwarding parents to us for help and fundraising advice. Francesca offers reassurance to all the children and recommends SDR despite all the hard work. I am so relieved that we have reached this stage of the journey!
We are in regular contact with St Louis and have sent several post-op video's at Dr Parks request. It's a wonderful team and they always reply same day to any emails. It's likely we'll return for a full consultation and review with Dr Park and Dr Dobbs in the next year. It feels too soon to go now, we are still progressing albeit slowly.
Francesca is now walking with sticks in secure environments, she is tall and straight. She still uses her frame for speed and safety in the playground at school but it doesn't come home anymore. We are continuing to work on balancing and standing. Franny is walking along the furniture with just one hand supported now, see the link below.
We still believe that Franny will achieve some independent walking.
Thanks to everyone for your continued support.
